Jamaica's Oldest Centenarian, Nora Miller-Welsh Has Passed Away

Nora Miller-Welsh, the oldest centenarian in Jamaica and a devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, passed away on Saturday. She was 110 years old and resided in Blenheim, Hanover.

Affectionately known as Ms. Nor in her community, Nora Miller-Welsh was highly regarded for her dedication to her local church, where she served as the head deaconess. However, due to her declining health, she eventually became bedridden.

On National Centenarian Day in May, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, led by portfolio minister Parnell Charles Jr, paid a visit to Nora Miller-Welsh and presented her with a gift basket to celebrate her remarkable milestone.

Nora Miller-Welsh's passing came as a shock to her caregivers, who found her unresponsive during her morning shower on July 6, 2024. Concerned for her well-being, they promptly contacted the authorities for assistance.

Nora Miller-Welsh's life and contributions to her community will always be remembered. Her dedication to her church and her longevity serve as an inspiration to all. As we mourn her loss, we celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.
