The Jamaica Reggae Girlz kicked off their Concacaf Women’s Qualifiers in spectacular fashion, delivering a record-breaking 18-0 victory over Dominica at the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia on Saturday. This resounding win not only placed Jamaica at the top of Group B on goal difference but also set a new benchmark for the highest score in a World Cup Qualifier.

Three standout players—Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Kalyssa Van Zanten, and Jody Brown—each netted hat tricks, propelling Jamaica past the previous record of 14-0 against St. Lucia in 2014 and 13-0 against Guadeloupe four years later.

Jamaica wasted no time establishing their dominance, racing to a 4-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of the match. By halftime, they had extended their lead to an astonishing 10-0, with both Shaw and Van Zanten contributing significantly to the scoreline.
The second half saw continued offensive pressure from the Reggae Girlz, as Deneisha Blackwood and substitutes Natasha Thomas and Shaneil Buckley each scored two goals, bringing the final tally to 18.
In the opening match of the group, Nicaragua also made headlines with a solid 4-0 win over Antigua and Barbuda at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in St. John’s on Thursday.
With this historic victory, the Reggae Girlz have set a high bar for their forthcoming matches in the qualifiers, showcasing their strength and determination on the international stage.
