The expansion and renovation will be undertaken by Ideas Execution Limited, under a 15-year management contract with the Manchester Municipal Corporation.

The Management Contract providing for the extensive renovation was signed on Friday, March 11 at the Manchester Municipal Corporation between the Mayor of Mandeville, Councillor Donovan Mitchell and CEO of Ideas Execution, Kevin Frith.

The signing ceremony was also witnessed by Minister of Transport and Mining, Audley Shaw, who commended Ideas Execution for its vision in undertaking the renovation and re-positioning of the Yam Park.

Under the terms of the contract, Ideas Execution will be developing the Yam Park to expand the range of Jamaican food dishes being offered, and to make the facility a more viable and attractive entity.

The renovation will include the construction of a Jerk Centre which will offer jerked chicken, curried goat, roti and other Jamaican dishes and juices.

Among the other planned physical upgrades is the creation of a rest stop, which will entail installation of benches, and the renovation of bathroom facilities to ensure that health standards are met.
