Just A Click Away : Golden Krust Launches Online Store For Authentic Jamaican Baked Goods

In a groundbreaking move, Golden Krust, the iconic Caribbean restaurant chain, has launched a nationwide e-commerce platform, allowing customers across the continental United States to order authentic Jamaican baked goods online. As of May 2026, food lovers can now enjoy Jamaican staples like Hard Dough Bread and Easter Bun from the comfort of their homes.

First-Time Online Offerings

For the first time in its 36-year history, Golden Krust is taking its renowned flavors beyond its brick-and-mortar locations. This expansion enables customers, excluding those in Alaska and Hawaii, to purchase a variety of beloved baked goods, including signature hard-dough bread, whole-wheat bread, spiced buns, and the celebrated Easter Bun—a rich, molasses-based bread filled with raisins and fruit.

From Bakery Roots to Cultural Staple

Golden Krust’s legacy is deeply rooted in baking, originating from Mavis and Ephraim Hawthorne, who established Hawthorne & Sons Bakery in Jamaica in 1949. This family tradition laid the groundwork for their son, the late Lowell Hawthorne, to build what has become one of the largest Caribbean restaurant franchises in the nation. Founded in 1989, Golden Krust has become a cultural mainstay within Caribbean-American communities and remains a leading name in Jamaican cuisine.

Adapting to Consumer Demand

The e-commerce launch is not only a significant milestone for Golden Krust but also reflects a broader trend among legacy food brands that are evolving to meet the growing demand for authentic cultural cuisine beyond major urban centers. The new online store will feature curated bakery bundles designed to deliver traditional Jamaican flavors directly to consumers.

Bakery Bundles and Pricing

Golden Krust is offering several enticing packages:

• Bun Bundle: Includes two large and one small spice buns for $25.

• Mixed Bread Bundle: Priced at $19.

• Specialty Bundles: Whole Wheat and Hard Dough Bread bundles available for $19 each.

In addition to baked goods, customers can also order merchandise such as bucket hats, hoodies, and sandals that celebrate Jamaican pride and culture. Notably, Golden Krust will donate $1 from every purchase of the “Golden Krust For Jamaica” hoodie or t-shirt to the American Friends of Jamaica, aiding Hurricane Melissa relief efforts.
