Sushana Guthrie, a Jamaica-born mother raising two children on the autism spectrum, has turned her personal journey through heartbreak, intensive research, and triumphs into a mission to support other parents. Released on April 1 in honor of Autism Awareness Month, her new self-help book, Holistic Nutritional Therapy for Autism ADHD, Epilepsy & Seizures: 20 Helpful Tips That May Improve Or Reverse Autism, quickly achieved “Top New Release” status on Amazon.

The book blends cultural wisdom with her lived experiences, offering a practical guide for families looking for alternative pathways when conventional options fall short.

Turning Pain into Purpose and Progress

Facing slow progress with standard therapies, Guthrie leaned into her Jamaican roots to overhaul her household’s lifestyle and diet. Her holistic strategy included juicing and daily green juices, shifting strictly to whole foods, and detoxifying the home. This approach yielded remarkable improvements in her children’s behavioral and neurological health.

Her daughter transformed from needing 20 prompts for simple instructions to following directions easily, reading, and thriving in school. Severe behaviors like screaming and self-harm subsided, replaced by functional speech, eye contact, and social engagement. Guthrie notes that her family has also found relief from public discrimination and stigma.

Expressing pride in her work, Guthrie shared, “I am happy that I wrote the book because it brought me a lot of peace, and I’m excited to share it with the world…”. The book is available on Amazon, with an audio version planned.
