Surrounded by coconut trees providing natural shade to our guests is the Charela Inn. A Hacienda inspired inner courtyard centered by a round fresh water swimming pool. Lush tropical gardens are home to hibiscus, night jasmine, bougainvilleas with birds including the Doctor Bird, our national bird. Two large patios to dine “al fresco” at our restaurant, or simply sip cocktails while watching the sunset.
The feeling is one of escape, yet moments away from water sports and the attractions of the seven mile beach. Each room has either a private patio or a private balcony. The public areas are designed to accommodate the physically impaired, along with three dedicated ground floor rooms. Charela Inn is renowned for the friendliness and caring of its long standing staff, many of whom have been with them for over 15 years. Their longstanding repeat guests of many Nationalities bring with them a true feeling of friendship, and are cherished by both management and staff.
Their beautiful inner tropical garden and swimming pool is enclosed within their hacienda style building which adds to the feeling of intimacy and charm of their Inn.
All rooms face either the sea or their inner garden, each room is approximately 400 ft² (37 m²) including bathroom, patio or balcony. All the furniture is made by local Craftsmen using Jamaican cedar wood. The high ceilings are lined in natural wood and the floors are covered in granite. All rooms have air conditioners, ceiling fans, mini fridges, cable TV, WIFI, telephone, hairdryer, safes and coffee/tea makers.
The entire property including the beach and pool is accessible to the physically challenged, please note that sea view rooms are strictly for adults only.
In 2008 the 4 original rooms above the bar were transformed into 2 junior Sea view suites. In 2013 6 Sea view deluxe rooms going to three floors for the first time were added Lastly in 2018 6 spacious and beautiful Sea View Junior Suites topped off with an unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea were added also going to three floors. We also have a 12 room resort on the West End Cliffs of Negril called Mirage Resort Charela Inn boasts the most attractive beach, covered in coconuts trees for natural shade, all their buildings are set back to the mandatory 150ft from the high water mark giving them a square feet of beach per room much higher than anyone else, our beach is never overcrowded.
