The team, which is made up of students from Campion College, Wolmer's Boys' School, Glenmuir High School, Hillel Academy, and The American International School in Kingston, competed against teams from over 20 countries. The team was awarded the gold medal for its engineering documentation, which outlined the process of designing and building their robot.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness took to his social media platforms to express his heartfelt congratulations to the team, saying, “I am immensely proud of Team Jamaica! We won the Gold medal for the Katherine Johnson Award for Engineering Documentation, in which the team had to demonstrate its robot-building process.”
