Konoko Falls is a nature park and tourist attraction located in the hills above Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It is home to a 50-foot waterfall, a botanical garden, a museum, a zoo, and two restaurants. The park is open to the public and offers a variety of activities, including hiking, swimming, bird watching, and ziplining.


You can spend the day and tour the property at your leisure or they will invite you to take their guided tour of the park with one of their experienced guides. They will lead you through the River Gardens, give you a brief history of our original inhabitants – the Taino Indians, introduce you to a variety of their indigenous birds and animals and guide you up the waterfall climb. 

Take a stroll through a unique and beautiful garden offering a variety of tropical flora that is fed by streams that rise on the property and meander through the gardens. The gardens offer many secret spots to relax and enjoy nature at its very best.

  • Waterfall: The main attraction at Konoko Falls is the 50-foot waterfall. You can hike to the top of the falls for stunning views of the surrounding area. There are also several pools at the base of the falls where you can swim and cool off.
  • Botanical garden: The botanical garden at Konoko Falls is home to over 500 species of plants, including orchids, ferns, and tropical trees. There are also several walking trails through the garden where you can explore the flora and fauna of Jamaica.
  • Museum: The museum at Konoko Falls tells the story of Jamaica's history and culture. There are exhibits on the Taino Indians, the Spanish colonists, and the Maroons. You can also learn about the plants and animals of Jamaica.
  • Zoo: The zoo at Konoko Falls is home to over 50 animals, including monkeys, snakes, and birds. You can get up close and personal with the animals and learn about their natural habitats.
  • Restaurants: There are two restaurants at Konoko Falls where you can enjoy traditional Jamaican cuisine. There is also a snack bar where you can get drinks and snacks

Exotic Birds

Visit the aviaries located along the Orchid Path, that house a variety of exotic birds that are endemic to Jamaica like the Jamaican barn owl and Mountain Witch doves, as well as other introduced species.


  • The park is open from 9am to 5pm daily.
  • The park is wheelchair accessible.
  • There are changing rooms and showers at the falls.
  • You can bring your own food and drinks, but there are also restaurants and a snack bar on site.
  • Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
  • The falls can be crowded, so it is best to visit during the week or early in the morning.
