In fact, she is the fifth fastest woman of all time in the 100m and the second fastest woman in history in the 200m.

Jackson began her career as a 400m sprinter and quickly gained recognition for her talent. She won individual bronze medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2015 World Championships, and the 2019 World Championships. Additionally, she claimed silver in the 4x400m relay at the 2016 Olympics and secured gold and bronze respectively at the 2015 and 2019 World Championships. At the 2019 Championships, she also won gold in the 4x100m relay, showcasing her versatility as a sprinter.

In 2021, Jackson made a shift to shorter sprints and achieved remarkable success. She won bronze in the 100m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and added a gold and bronze medal in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays respectively. During this year, she achieved personal best times of under 10.80s in the 100m, under 22s in the 200m, and under 49.5s in the 400m. These outstanding performances placed her among the elite group of women who have achieved such marks in these events.

At the 2022 World Championships, Jackson continued to shine. She won a silver medal in the 100m, a gold medal in the 200m where she set a national record, and another silver medal in the 4x100m relay. Her exceptional performance in the 200m also earned her the title of the 2022 Diamond League champion.

Jackson has etched her name in the history books by becoming the first athlete in World Championship history to win medals in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events, including the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. She is also the second athlete, after Marita Koch, to win medals in all these events at either the World Championships or the Olympic Games.

Shericka Jackson's journey to success began at a young age. Since 2008, she has been winning age-group gold medals at the CARIFTA Games and the CACAC Junior Championships. She has also achieved notable placements in various international competitions, including reaching the finals of the 2010 Youth Olympics, securing third place in the 2011 World Youth Championships, and competing in the 2012 World Junior Championships.

It was in 2015, at the age of 21, that Jackson made significant progress in the 400m. Under the guidance of renowned coach Stephen Francis, she achieved a sub-51s time in June and eventually broke the 50s barrier in August. This marked a turning point in her career, leading her to switch her focus to the 100m and 200m sprints in the 2021 season. Her personal best times of 10.77s in the 100m and 21.82s in the 200m at the Jamaica Olympic Trials showcased her potential in these events.

At the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Jackson impressed by winning the bronze medal in the 100m with a career-best time of 10.76s. She narrowly missed advancing in the 200m after slowing down before the finish line, but her performances throughout the 2022 season solidified her status as a formidable sprinter.

In 2023, Jackson continued her streak of success by winning three medals at the World Championships. She claimed gold in the 200m with a time of 21.41s, making her the second-fastest woman in history in this event. She also won silver in the 100m, finishing behind Sha'Carri Richardson, and another silver in the 4x100m relay. These achievements further solidify Jackson's position as one of the most talented sprinters in the world.

Throughout her career, Jackson has consistently pushed the boundaries of her abilities and achieved remarkable feats in the world of sprinting. Her dedication, determination, and natural talent have earned her a rightful place among the elite athletes in Jamaican sprinting history.
